Trailer Watch: Tony Jaa’s back in ‘Fist of the Warrior’!
Now this is the Tony Jaa I know and love. Giving me vibes of The Raid, Fist of the Warrior returns to the no-nonsense action Tony Jaa was known for when he took Hollywood by storm with his Ong Bak trilogy and The Protector in the 2010s.
After years of hit and misses since that debut, Fist of the Warrior looks like a return to form.
Plot:
“Bai Ann (Tony Jaa) is still an excellent Muay Thai fighter, but has to realize that he is slowly getting on in years and that his body needs much longer to regenerate after a fight. So he begins to think about what his future life should look like. But all this suddenly becomes irrelevant when members of a crime syndicate murder his beloved wife and their daughter. From then on, there is only one thought left for Bai Ann: bloody, ruthless revenge to the last man.”

It appears Fist of the Warrior was released last year as Striking Rescue, but is getting a western release with, honestly, a better title. Stay tuned for theatrical release dates, as these western releases of older martial arts movies tend to have limited time. Hopefully, Fist of the Warrior is good enough to make it to Toxic Masculinity Tuesday infamy!
