Pop culture is a never-ending world of updates, teases, trailers, and hopefully releases. What’s New Wednesday is Dorkaholics’ way to keep us all up to date with what’s new across comics, TV, film, games, and more! This week, the focus is on Materialists, F1 The Movie, The Life of Chuck, and Caught Stealing.
- Materialists – Trailers 2 and 3
The latest trailer for Materialists feels like a time machine back to the romcoms of the early 2000s with a familiar guiding narration along with a classic tune as the accompanying soundtrack, as we get a glimpse into the life of Lucy played by Dakota Johnson. I can’t wait to see the nuances director Celine Song (Past Lives) brings to the romance genre and its themes.

Synopsis: A young, ambitious New York City matchmaker finds herself torn between the perfect match and her imperfect ex.
- F1 The Movie – Main Trailer
No, F1 The Movie is not based on a true story. But if you want the trailer and a get taste of the film’s acting and writing, you’ll want it to be. And I believe that’s what we call the power of storytelling. It’s the ability to make us believe in fiction enough to allow it carry as much weight if not more than what is considered reality.
Release Date: In theaters on June 27, 2025
Synopsis: Dubbed “the greatest that never was,” Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) was Formula 1’s most promising phenom of the 1900s until he spectacularly crashed and burned. Ruben convinces Sonny to come back to Formula 1 for one last shot at saving the team and being the best in the world. He’ll drive alongside Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), the team’s hotshot rookie intent on setting his own accelerated pace. But as the engines roar, Sonny’s past catches up with him and he finds that in F1, your teammate is your fiercest competition – and the road to redemption is not something you can travel alone.
- The Life of Chuck – Final Trailer
With this trailer that seems to portray life as both grounded and grand, The Life of Chuck feels like it will be a celebration of the wondrous miracle of life.

I'm a self-proclaimed "professional dork." I've always been drawn to the creative and imaginative worlds found in comic books, video games, and other forms of entertainment, and I believe that these stories and characters have the power to inspire and bring people together. Through Dorkaholics, I've had the opportunity to attend conventions, interview some of my favorite artists and creators, and connect with a community of like-minded individuals who share my passion for all things dorky. When I'm not writing about the latest pop culture trends, you can usually find me playing video games, reading comic books, or exploring new fandoms. I'm thrilled to be able to share my love of pop culture with the world through Dorkaholics, and I hope to continue to inspire and entertain fellow dorks for years to come.
