When Frank Miller Clashed With Marvel’s Jim Shooter

Here’s a recent Hollywood Reporter interview with veteran artist Miller, where he continues his otherwise uninspired relay of what his relations with past comics veterans were like, and he even had the audacity to praise a certain overrated movie that unfortunately took plenty at the box office: Miller has also been catching up on his moviegoing, and had seen Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, which he calls “extravagant.” The creator behind Spartan story 300 knows his way around an ancient Greek myth or two (he can easily slip into expounding on Corinthian style helmets and their influence on Sparta) and says the movie “really did an awful lot right.” Well this is a shame, but not all that surprising Miller would ignore some of the wokest workings in Nolan’s new movie, which again, regrettably grossed plenty of dough, even if it did eventually go down in sales after 3 weeks.
