With the US Paratroops (Behind Enemy Lines) v1 #1, 1951 - Wally Wood turns in an explosive cover for this one-shot issue. The enlarged face of a paratrooper looms over an assault by the same US forces. Chaotic yet carefully designed, there is no lack of detail in the numerous soldiers that fill the layout. Wood's second illustration immediately follows, an equally superb effort in black, white and graytones (see interior page below). Note that Wood drew many inside front covers for other Avon titles.
