This was another attempt to bring popular Magna creators into the Marvel fold. Like those before it, it produced an inessential, mediocre “event” comic. The Fantastic Four show up at X-Mansion to ask for help but instead Wolverine punches Thing, Thing hits back, and there’s a big, stupid brawl. So dumb.
The teams then go into space because a U.S. Space Station is in trouble and the crew need a rescue. Apparently, in a world where Tony Stark gives the U.S. government technology and robots have emotions, America can’t even rescue its own astronauts.
Anyway, turns out the whole thing is a Brood attack.
Disinfect the infected, fight the Brood, yodda yodda, and then they play baseball.
