James Gunn’s Superman: Man of Tomorrow has completed principal photography, moving the DC Studios sequel into postproduction ahead of its July 9, 2027, release. Gunn confirmed the production wrap, calling the experience “truly a joyful” one and thanking the cast and crew. The sequel will bring back David Corenswet as Superman and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Rachel Brosnahan will return as Lois Lane, while Skyler Gisondo will again play Jimmy Olsen. The cast also includes Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl. The biggest surprise is the return of Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes, also known as Blue Beetle. Maridueña confirmed the news during an interview with Variety, ending questions about whether the character would continue after his 2023 movie.
