The following contains major spoilers for Two-Face #4, on sale now from Marvel Comics.
One classic Batman villain's heartbreaking family reunion could also be what finally shatters his mind.
After months of helping other villains have their day in court, Two-Face #4 finally gives the titular Gotham City menace a chance to hold both sides of himself accountable in the venerated halls of his own sprawling mindscape. There, the one true Two-Face finally comes to terms with the fact that his future is his own to decide, and as such he no longer has any place for the twisted Scarvey persona who has been terrorizing him from the inside out. Unfortunately, there is still one person who does, and the faint ghost of Harvey Dent's own mother is more than happy to prove it.

Although Two-Face has been a part of the overarching DC Comics mythos from as far back as 1942 when the original, Golden Age iteration of the character first appeared in Bill Finger and Bob Kane's "The Crimes of Two-Face," little has ever been revealed about his parents. While the current, Prime Earth version of Two-Face's father, Harvey Dent Sr., was previously introduced as an abusive alcoholic, the latest issue of the current series marks the debut of the titular character's mother. As such, little is known about her life, death, and impact on her son, apart from what little has been mentioned of her in passing.
In recent months, Two-Face has not only begun directly confronting the various aspects of himself that all serve as their own individual entities, he has constructed an elaborate mindscape replete with a prison of its own to house the worst of them all. This includes Scarvey, or Bad Harvey, the twisted persona which stands as the incarnation of all of Two-Face's hatred and rage. Apart from making various moves against Harvey from within, Scarvey has seemingly been orchestrating concerted efforts against Two-Face in the waking world under the guise of the Shadow Hand.
