DC's Absolute Universe just got a major update courtesy of its most important creator.
In a July 9 Twitter post from acclaimed writer and Absolute Universe architect Scott Snyder, fans got the long-awaited confirmation that the heroes of DC's Absolute Universe will indeed begin crossing paths later this year. When asked if the Absolute Justice League would be forming anytime soon, Snyder replied with an ominous, albeit positive, "Meetings are coming in winter..."

Transformers Introduces the Biggest Failure in Decepticon History
Skybound Entertainment is about to introduce one of the smallest, most unassuming Decepticons of all time, and they might just be the worst.
DC Comics' Absolute Universe first came into focus in the pages of 2024's DC All In Special #1 (by Joshua Williamson, Scott Snyder, Daniel Sampere, Wes Craig, Mike Spicer, Alejandro Sánchez, Tamra Bonvillain, and Steve Wands), an over-sized issue that saw the infamous Darkseid launch an all-out assault on the Justice League's newly minted Watchtower. Upon being seemingly obliterated by a mystically empowered Superman, Darkseid's consciousness ascended to a higher state of being. As such, Darkseid was able to merge his consciousness with the very fabric of the reality then known as the Elseworld, an alternate dimension completely cut off from the rest of the Multiverse.
Following Darkseid's transformation and his merging with the Absolute Universe, the course of history in this other dimension was forever altered. While the Elseworld could have given rise to anything, Darkseid's influence led the heroes of the Absolute Universe to come into form as the most brutal, occasionally mind-bending versions of themselves that fans have ever seen. As of now, the Absolute Universe is inhabited by its own Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, and Martian Manhunter, the latter of whom has proven to be a resounding fan-favorite.

Marvel And New York City Just Honored Jack Kirby In the Coolest Way
Marvel Comics teams up with New York City to cement a new place where fans can celebrate the life and legacy of the legendary Jack Kirby.
Back in June, Absolute Martian Manhunter writer Deniz Camp confirmed that the series would be going on a two-month hiatus. Camp explained the decision on social media, writing, "To those asking: Absolute Martian Manhunter will be taking a two month break so that the creative team and quality can stay consistent. We'll be back after the two month break with another 6 issue arc!" The series follows FBI agent John Jones, whose life is saved during a terrorist attack by a being known only as the Martian (or the Martian Mind****er by John). Rather than John existing as the Martian's alter-ego as in the primary DC Universe and most other continuities, the Absolute Martian and John Jones are completely separate individuals, even if they have formed a strange, symbiotic bond of their own throughout the course of their series so far.
