“The Super-Dog From Krypton!”

Young Clark Kent had always envied the children of Earth and their pets. Dogs, cats, and rabbits; if only they were a bit tougher, Clark could have one of his own to play with. Sometimes, however, super-strength isn’t what it’s cracked up to be. Cue Krypto, the dog that fell to Earth.

As Superboy eludes the watchful eye of Smallville’s chief gossip – Lana Lang, he must investigate the weird stray dog who has wandered into town. With the local dogcatcher on the hunt, Clark must act fast before the town discovers his secret. No Krypto, you naughty dog!

Reviewer Notes

With the upcoming release of Superman (2025), DC Comics has released a facsimile edition of Adventure Comics #210 to coincide with the movie premiere. Not only do readers get an amazing-quality edition of this classic 1955 comic book, there is also a chance to win movie tickets through the “Find Krypto’s Golden Biscuit” contest. What an amazing gimmick for fans of Superman and Krypto the Superdog.

Side note: I didn’t win.

As for the reprint copy, they just don’t make them like this anymore. The stories were written at a much different time. There are no racial or gender identity messages her, just plain fun. Adventure Comics #210 is jam-packed with entertainment for the whole family, and should keep the kids busy for quite some time. I loved every page of it. Krypto and the other heroes get four out of five stars from me.
