Krysten Ritter is ready for her return as Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again, and fans should be excited to hear what she teased about the upcoming role.

Speaking with Collider, Ritter opened up about having the opportunity to go even deeper with the Jessica Jones character, teasing that her role in Daredevil: Born Again will be worth the long wait fans have endured since her last appearance. "To revisit [Jessica] and go deeper with her, back to back with this? It’s everything that you dream of," she shared.

When Ritter's Jessica Jones makes her on-screen appearance in Daredevil: Born Again, it will be the character's first time officially appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ritter talked about how Jessica contrasts with one of her other recent characters, Mia Lapierre in Dexter: Resurrection.

"Creatively, for me as a performer, getting to play both of these roles back to back, something very new and fresh, very different, [Mia’s] very glamorous and dangerous," Ritter said. "And then this superhero, a character that I worked so hard on, that I know in my body, I love her — that’s so rare to have a character like her. I think she’s one of the coolest female characters ever, and to have that comeback story..."

Ritter remained tight-lipped about where exactly Daredevil: Born Again's Season 2 story would be taking Jessica Jones, but she did hint that one of the key aspects of the character's identity would remain intact. "Jessica's kicking a--, and back in a big way," Ritter teased.

The first season of Daredevil: Born Again debuted on Disney+ earlier this year as part of Phase Five of the MCU. A reboot of the Netflix Daredevil series, it saw Charlie Cox reprising his role as Matt Murdock after previously appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. The new Daredevil series performed well and earned positive reviews, leading to a second season renewal, with Ritter set to return when the new episodes drop in March 2026.

Earlier this year, Charlie Cox may have dropped a huge hint about just where Jessica Jones' story will pick up when she returns in Daredevil: Born Again. The actor talked about an old Marvel plot hole that many fans missed - the fact that at the end of the Defenders miniseries, the rest of Daredevil's allies assumed he was dead.

"When did Jessica Jones find out that I’m not dead?" Cox teased. He didn't offer up any more information about Ritter's reprisal, but he did also comment on the chemistry the two characters have. "There's a mutual respect for one another. She finds him overly serious and too much of a choir boy, and he finds her to be crass and making light of too many serious situations; she's more antihero than hero."

Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again is now streaming on Disney+. Ritter will return as Jessica Jones when Season 2 arrives in 2026.
