The second physical volume of the hit WEBTOON series is now available at your local bookstore. So, here’s what to know about the latest entry in the charming series.

The Story So Far

In The Kiss Bet, Vol. 1, things were looking up for Sara as she entered the second half of her senior year of high school. She has the support of her good friends and her father (who is a self-proclaimed “cool” dad). But Sara has a secret: she’s never been kissed.

This is complicated when her best friend, Patrick, challenges her with a bet. He bets her $50 that she won’t kiss a random boy in the subway station, “Subway Boy.” While she does ask him for a kiss, it doesn’t happen, and instead the boy calls her a “weirdo.” And to add insult to injury, she owes Patrick $50.

Meanwhile, math doesn’t come easy to Sara. Her teacher wants her to work with Oliver Yang, a student tutor, in order to improve her skills. And then she discovers that Oliver is “Subway Boy,” and lives across the hall from her! Worse still, Patrick won’t stop teasing her about losing their bet. As if that’s not complicated enough, there’s also a cute new boy in class, Joseph. And did I mention that Joe is Oliver’s brother?

But soon, Sara learns that juggling romantically charged relationships with three different boys is a messier proposition that she expected. For example, what do you do when you join the Newspaper Club and get partnered with both Oliver and Joe on your school festival coverage?

The Kiss Bet, Vol. 2

In The Kiss Bet, Vol. 2, Sara grapples with the fact that Oliver has identified her as the girl who tried to kiss him in the subway station. Meanwhile, she must deal with her failure to complete Patrick’s homework after losing another bet to him, leading to consequences for Patrick.

However, Patrick is also dealing with a situation of his own. Someone has filled his locker full of romantic cards, chocolates and gifts… Who is his secret admirer?

The situation grows even more complex when Sara fails her Calculus pre-test. Having alienated Oliver, who is a decent tutor, and having no luck with her cousin Vicky, who is not, Sara must find a way to course correct her grades before it’s too late. When Joe realizes how upset Sara is about the grade, he offers to tutor her himself.

But naturally, Oliver is at home when Sara turns up for the math session… And he even discovered Sara’s bad test grade, despite her attempt to cover it up. How will Sara sort through her relationship drama? Can she manage to get her math grade up? And will our heroes survive the greatest challenge of all: high school?
