AX 2025: AX Lite Day 2 livestream suspended for policy violations

14 hours ago 2

July 4th, 2025, Anime Expo has been going on for 2 days since it began on July 3rd. As the day was coming to its end the livestream on both YouTube and Twitch started to stream the premiere of Studio ORANGE‘s anticipated new series, Leviathan.

First reported by Anime Corner on X/Twitter, in the middle of that stream, it suddenly became unavailable when YouTube suspended it for “Policy Violations”. Shortly afterward, Twitch also terminated the stream due to use of third-party audio or video content.

Twitch has currently made the official Anime Expo channel unavailable due to a violation of its Community Guidelines or Terms of Service, prompting the event to create a secondary channel, AnimeExpo2, so they can continue the live stream for Days 3 and 4 of the convention. Anime Expo has set the YouTube livestreams of the first two days to private, so they are currently unavailable on the platform.

One can only speculate why YouTube and Twitch had to suspend and terminate the live stream by Anime Expo. It can be assumed it is due to whoever owns the streaming rights to Studio Orange’s project, which could be Netflix. But as of writing, Anime Expo hasn’t made any comments on the matter, though it is indeed unusual for platforms to cut off the livestream of a major event like this. Especially for the premiere of a certain show or project that was planned well in advance.
