One of Spider-Man's most complicated allies is teaming back up with his monstrous other half, and just in time to save the day.
While the eponymous heroes of The Spectacular Spider-Men #12 are still busy trying to help their latest superpowered ally, Elementary, take total control of her newfound abilities, their enemies have quickly taken notice of this particular routine. As such, it takes no effort for Max Dillon and Francine Frye, both better known as Electro, to get the drop on the heroes in the middle of a training session. Although the Electros make quick work of the heroes, the likes of Peter Parker and Miles Morales aren't the only ones they need to worry about, especially now that Curt Connors and the Lizard have joined forces against them.

Introduced back in 1963's Amazing Spider-Man #6 by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, Doctor Curt Connors is a gifted surgeon and genius scientist who put his skills to good use during wartime as a front line medic. After losing his arm to the war, Connors was instilled with a deep-seated desire to repair the damage by any means necessary. To that end, Connors developed a serum using modified reptilian DNA which, though successful in regrowing the limb he had lost, transformed the good doctor into the infamous Lizard who terrorized Spider-Man and the streets of New York City for decades.
Apart from battling Spider-Man and other classic heroes as the villain, Connors has spent much of the past six decades helping the Wall-Crawler and his allies find ways of defeating other foes whenever he could. Throughout the years, Connors frequently struggled with controlling his Lizard persona and keeping it from reclaiming control of their shared physical form. As of 2021's Amazing Spider-Man #70 by Nick Spencer and Federico Vicentini, the two were even able to be separated into two distinct individuals, opening the door for Connors to truly reclaim his humanity and for the Lizard to embark upon a life of its own without constantly battling for control.

The latest trip through not-so-ancient X-Men history has just introduced a new take on a classic Marvel Comics powerhouse, and she's terrifying.
In recent months, Max Dillon and Francine Frye have argued over which of them truly deserves the mantle of Electro. To settle the matter without having to kill one another, the two Electros made a bet as to which of them could kill a Spider-Man first. In the hopes of gaining an extra edge over the competition, the Electros kidnapped Connors' young son, Billy, holding him hostage to force the former Lizard to help them in their endeavors. Unfortunately for the Electros, however, Connors and the Lizard have little if any bad blood between them, and the latter is still just as protective of his human family as ever.
