Jorge Jiménez has become a powerhouse among DC fans, and he is celebrated for his explosive, kinetic style on titles like Batman, Justice League, and Super Sons. His ability to blend dynamic action with expressive character work has made him one of the defining artists of the modern superhero era. Now, he’s channeling over 14 years of artistic evolution into a breathtaking new project that’s exclusive, deeply personal, and absolutely packed with visual firepower. This collection is Jorge’s best, from jaw-dropping covers to intricately detailed interiors. Sure, it might eventually make its way to retailers, but this version is special—crafted for the fans who’ve followed his journey and want something few others will own. Stramash ‘63

Creators: James Corcoran (Writer/Artist/Creator). Alex Automatic (Co-Creator)
Goal: $653
End Date: April 27
Goodies: The digital copy is $3, the noir edition is $6, and the main edition is $7. At higher tiers, you can get an A5 commission for $40.

All new, all color Stramash the Glaswegian crime comic that mixes Scottish myth and science fiction.

Starmash ’63 is a detective noir that meets Scottish mythology; from that description, it sounds like a lot of fun. However, as you scroll down their project page, you get to see Corcoran’s art, which is fantastic. It’s gritty and colorful, masquerading as a sketchbook with emotions pouring through the art. It’s wonderful and worth looking into, so it doesn’t surprise me that the project has already been funded and is well on its way to completion. If it seems like something up your alley, I recommend checking it out before it’s too late.

By Appointment Only (#1 of 4) – A Modern Witch Comic

Creators: Wells Thompson (Writer) and Maru Davalos (Artist)
Goal: $1,000
End Date: April 23
Goodies: Get the digital copy for $5, the physical for $8, cover B for $10, or, at higher tiers, the catch-up bundle for $55 and much more!

Alice and Scarlet are asked to find Jamie’s missing boyfriend, who might be possessed by a demon. A 28-page magical mystery!

The idea of an urban fairy tale has always scratched that proverbial fantasy itch for me, which is exactly why By Appointment Only immediately caught my eye—and I wasn’t disappointed. Thompson has created something that feels delightfully akin to a webcomic, and let me be clear: that’s not a knock in the slightest. It’s intimate, charming, and brimming with personality. Described as Sabrina the Teenage Witch meets Hellblazer, it’s a wild combo—but one that absolutely works. The magic really clicks thanks to Davalos’s art, which brings a cozy, inviting warmth to the world. It evokes the same comforting vibes as Stardew Valley, but filtered through the lens of urban fantasy, making it all the more special. This is a project created with heart, care, and genuine passion. It would be a shame to miss out on it—trust me, you won’t regret giving it a look.

The Adventures of Lion Man

Creators: Rosarium Publishing
Goal: $10,000
End Date: April 18
Goodies: Get the digital copy for $10, the paperback for $20, the time for some action bundle for $25, or, at higher tiers, the Afrofuturism special for $30, and much more!

Alice and Scarlet are asked to find Jamie’s missing boyfriend, who might be possessed by a demon. A 28-page magical mystery!

There is this panel on the project page of The Adventures of Lion Man that sticks out to me, Lion Man is in the front with a little robot with the number three on his chest behind him, fighting off two henchmen in blue suits, and what looks like two lizardmen. The panel looks phenomenal, Lion Man sticks out in his bright orange suit, spear in hand, punching and kicking his way out, #three behind him blasting villains away with an eye, foot, and hand beam. It’s gritty and bright, and the way each hit is drawn in such a way that you can feel the shockwaves reverberate through the panel.

The best part is that this project is an anthology with various artists and writers. Unsurprisingly, two-time Eisner Award-winner John Jennings and Eisner Award-nominated artist David Brame did the art in this comic. Quite frankly, I fell in love with the work and discovered that this is a way to bring to life a piece of lost media: All-Negro Comics, a comic anthology from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in which very few copies survive today due to racism and hate. Readers, it’s not every day you get a group willing to bring to life a piece of history, even rarer so with attention to detail and a deep love of comics. Therefore, The Beat would be remiss not to mention it here. Do not miss out on this, you will not regret it!

The Order of the Nun-Ya Starburst: Orekestra (Sci-Fi heroes)

Creators: SolisSequentials
Goal: $1,800
End Date: April 19
Goodies: The issue digital copy is $5, the physical copy is $8, the collectors order bundle is $50, and at higher tiers, the Karlo order is $60.

The Order of the Nun-Ya’s punk Starburst nun, Orekestra, in her exciting comic debut! Sci-fi sisterhood in nun style. Let’s Go!

The project is already over $800, and it is not hard to see why! The Order of the Nun-Ya just looks like a lot of fun, the story follows a group of badass nuns in outer space whose whole purpose is to fight for those who find themselves at the hands of evil self-imposed leaders, abusers, and outright fiends. This story is ready to introduce the starburst-level nuns, lone Agents of the Order, ready to infiltrate oppressive regimes and free the downtrodden. Honestly, the project feels like they got a bunch of ideas together around nuns and just went for it, and I can’t help but love it for that. Using a punk art style and mixing different blends of humor and hardcore action akin to Star Wars, Tank Girl, and even Batwoman, I can’t help but wait to see what else this project has in store!
