Cartoon Network's beloved Ben 10 series is making a surprising comeback with a new release later this year. Dynamite Entertainment will release Ben 10: Creator Files this October.
Per Bleeding Cool, the news comes as the ongoing headline Ben 10 series sits out for the month. Dynamite will instead offer fans the new Ben 10: Creator Files, which is teased as a behind-the-scenes special giving fans a glimpse into how the story has been created — from script and art to its colors, lettering and page assembly. The main Ben 10 comics will return as usual in November. Preview sketches from Creator Files were also teased, showcasing some of the different aliens the new series has been exploring.
Ben 10: Creator Files Arrives From Dynamite Entertainment This October
For Ben 10: Creator Files, Robert Carey, Matt Idelson, and Joe Casey united to deliver a look back at what the main title has offered to date. "We wanted to give the Ben 10 readers something really special, a 'thank you' for the support they've shown the series so far," Casey shared.
"This Creator Files issue is jam-packed with extra material — including exclusive first-looks that we just couldn't wait to show off!" Included in the preview of Creator Files are several sketches of some of the book's characters, though classic Ben Tennyson was not included, but for a sketch on the cover.
Ben 10: Creator Files will enjoy the same format and pricing as a standard issue of the series. It has been reported that, within the issue, a feature will break down the major stages of comic creation, from the writer's script to Carey's artwork and beyond. Readers will get to see Ren Spiller's color additions, Taylor Esposito's lettering, and how it all assembles neatly on the page before it heads off to publication.
The new behind-the-scenes look will also include a new interview with Casey. Character sketches will go back to before the series even entered print, highlighting some of Carey's preparation for drawing the first issue — allowing fans to see sketches and designs that have never before been shown publicly.
Previews of upcoming storylines were also teased, as well as the debut designs for the franchise's "next classic villain." A gallery of pin-ups of variant covers from the series will also be added to Ben 10: Creator Files, and Casey will be signing a limited number of comics available to order.
Ben 10 Remains One of Cartoon Network's Biggest Franchises
Image via Cartoon NetworkBen 10 originally debuted on Cartoon Network in 2005, and its 20+ year run has been nothing short of legendary. Multiple sequels followed, including Ben 10: Alien Force, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien and Ben 10: Omniverse, all of which shared the same Cartoon Network continuity. A reboot of the main series followed in 2016, and it remains the second-longest-existing franchise for the network.
In July 2024, Dynamite Entertainment and Warner Bros. teamed up to announce the new Ben 10 comic book series, with the first issue going on sale back in May. It has furthered the franchise's success and sold out, with Dynamite dubbing it "a fresh take on a 21st century classic", touting its appeal to longtime fans and new readers.
