The following contains major spoilers for X-Men#11, on sale now from Marvel Comics.
Cyclops is officially staring down a fighting force he has no chance of beating on his own.
While the eponymous heroes of X-Men #11 are busy checking up on the newly activated mutants who have cropped up all across the globe, the sudden impact of a downed spacecraft draws their attention to the Yukon. There, Cyclops and his allies come face-to-face with Scott Summers' own father, Corsair, not to mention the alien bounty hunters who have followed him to Earth. Surprisingly, it isn't the infamous space pirate who these ruby quartz armor clad bounty hunters have come looking for, but rather his optic blast wielding son, and they will stop at nothing to get their hands on him.
One classic Spider-Man villain is getting back together with his human alter-ego, and they are already both Electros' next biggest problem.

The iconic ruby quartz visor that Cyclops wears has been a part of the overarching Marvel mythos since the character's first appearance all the way back in Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's X-Men #1 in 1963. For whatever reason, the ruby quartz that the visor itself is composed of is the only naturally occurring substance that is capable of deflecting Cyclops' optic blasts without taking any damage. Ruby quartz also seems to have a dampening effect on Cyclops' optic blasts, as his visors have never had any issue with being blown off his face or their non-quartz components being obliterated by any deflected energy.
Christopher Summers, better known as Corsair, is the father of Scott, Alex, and Gabriel Summers, as well as the adoptive father of Adam Neramani, aka Adam-X. A professional pilot, Christopher was abducted by the Shi'ar during a return trip he was flying with the rest of his family. Although Scott and Alex were pushed from the plane, Christopher and his wife Katherine were not so lucky. Tragically, the Shi'ar Emperor D'Ken ended Katherine's life when he ripped the unborn Gabriel from her womb before selling the boy off into a life of slavery.
The most dangerous foe the Fantastic Four have ever known has finally taken over the entire world, and the response is not what the heroes expected.
This recent run-in with Cyclops is just the latest awkward family reunion that Corsair has been a part of in recent months. Not all that long ago, Corsair crossed paths with his daughter-in-law, Jean Grey, who had taken to the stars as the Phoenix following the end of the Krakoan Era. While the majority of Earth's mutants have made new homes for themselves all over the globe in the wake of the war with Orchis, Jean and the Phoenix were called our to the cosmos, where they have fallen into the middle of an ongoing battle with the Dark God Perrikus and his malevolent allies such as Thanos and the Galactic Council.
