Fresh off the success of F1, Brad Pitt has returned to the set of “The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth,” a rare follow-up to Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. David Fincher directs the new movie, based on a script written by Tarantino. The story continues the life of Cliff Booth, the stuntman character played by Pitt, who now works as a fixer within Hollywood studios. Filming began in Los Angeles in late July 2025. Pitt was recently seen on set in costume, featuring an unruly hairstyle and a mustache, which mark a change from his appearance in the original film. The story is set in 1977, about eight years after the last movie’s events.
Netflix is producing the film, but it has not yet officially announced the production or the title. The project is confirmed by cast sightings and production reports. Alongside Pitt, the cast includes Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, JB Tadena, and Corey Fogelmanis. The plot details remain limited, but Cliff Booth is depicted as moving on from his earlier life and no longer living under the shadow of Rick Dalton, the movie star played by Leonardo DiCaprio. It is not yet confirmed if DiCaprio will return, though he might make a brief cameo.

Quentin Tarantino wrote the screenplay but chose not to direct, as he plans to end his directing career with a different film. Brad Pitt remained interested in the project and arranged for David Fincher to direct after Tarantino approved. Fincher, who has worked with Netflix on previous films, has long wanted to collaborate with Pitt again. Netflix is reportedly investing heavily in the film, including paying Tarantino for the screenplay rights. Production is scheduled to continue into December 2025, with an expected wrap date in early 2026. The film does not yet have a confirmed release date.
The movie will explore new aspects of Cliff Booth’s character, shifting him into a Hollywood fixer role. Scenes already filmed include shooting at Tarantino’s New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles, where period details such as a poster from a 1977 film hint at the time setting. The production is large-scale, involving many speaking roles and background actors, signaling a major investment by Netflix. This film is expected to act as an epilogue to the story world created by Tarantino in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
