DC Comics has teased the first look at two of Batman's most formidable foes in the Absolute Universe. Absolute Batman is set to finally, finally, finally introduce Absolute Two-Face and Absolute Penguin.

In a solicit for DC Comics' upcoming releases, Absolute Batman fans were treated to an early glance of Absolute Two-Face and Absolute Penguin, though there'll be a bit of time before this evil-doing duo introduces themselves in DC Comics' most fascinating universe yet.

Two-Face and the Penguin are no strangers to terrorizing The Caped Crusader, yet the horrors that may ensue are still left up to the mercy of Snyder's writing. It's been previously confirmed that Absolute Scarecrow will be given the highest kill count in DC Comics (so far), though that shouldn't discount the sadism that's yet to be discovered.

The Absolute Universe has already played with the likes of Absolute Poison Ivy and a truly terrifying Absolute Joker, demolishing Gotham and wreaking havoc without pity for those in their way. Two-Face and the Penguin's reintroductions won't be the first time that legacy characters will be explored, as both are expected to step onto the small screens once again. Collin Farrell's Oswald "Oz Cobb" Cobblepot, or The Penguin, has been reimagined for Matt Reeves' Batman universe; Sebastian Stan is now set to join him as Harvey "Two-Face" Dent in The Batman — Part II.

Not much else has been revealed about the revamped approach to each member of Batman's rogues' gallery, yet knowing the masterwork of Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta, there's surely something sinister and exciting for the villainous pair left to be discovered. Bat-fans can expect to meet both in Absolute Batman #21, which releases on June 10.

DC Comics Has Needed The Absolute Universe

The Absolute Universe continues to expand while delivering fresh, new, and exciting narrative reconstructions to some of DC Comics' most beloved icons. Familiar faces such as Batman, Superman, or Martian Manhunter have successfully solidified the idea that DC Comics can flawlessly challenge the conventions of their mainstays while introducing daring concepts. Snyder has pushed the boundaries of what comics can achieve by leaning heavily into sociopolitics while understanding the fundamentals of DC Comics' framework.

Absolute Batman #20 is set to deepen the legacy of the Bat-Fam as Robins — plural — are expected to make their debut. "If Bruce is Joker now, and he is chaos, and he is disruption, then Joker is the system and order. That means Joker would have a Batcave, he would have a mansion, he would be handsome, and be a socialite. Maybe he has Robins!" And who is the tragic loss? Martha Wayne? Harley Quinn? Selina Kyle? Barbara Gordon? Jim Gordon? I mean, I suppose it could be a man if you wanted to avoid the obvious allegation of fridging. And are we going to see The Absolute Joker's Absolute Robins?" Snyder teased.

Absolute Batman can be read wherever comics are sold, ahead of Absolute Batman #21, releasing on June 10.
