Celebrities across the globe have been expressing their desire to leave the United States should Donald Trump secure another term as president. And now, in the wake of Mr. Trump’s victory in the US presidential race, widespread disappointment and salty tears are flowing among many high-profile figures, or as Victor calls them – “the glitterati.”

In the lead-up to the election, several celebrities, including Cardi B, Lili Reinhart, and Christina Applegate, openly criticized Trump’s supporters and their views. Christina Applegate tweeted, “Please unfollow me if you voted against female rights. Against disability rights. Yeah that. Unfollow me because what you did is unreal. Don’t want followers like this.”

After the election results were announced, America Ferrera, known for her roles in “Ugly Betty” and “Barbie,” expressed her disappointment and considered moving to the UK. “America is sick that Donald Trump is President again,” she said, and disheartened by Kamala Harris’s loss.

Minnie Driver also revealed her plans to return to the UK after nearly three decades in Los Angeles, expressing her concerns about the political climate in the United States. Over the summer, she commented on the challenge of returning to the US if Trump was re-elected. “If I lived in a red [Republican] state, no, I couldn’t [return]. But living in California, you are somewhat insulated,” she said. That’s an understatement.

Whoopi Goldberg, who previously stated she’d leave if Trump won his first election, expressed her stance on “The View” in 2016: “He’s the president. I’m still not going to say his name – that’s not going to change.” Initially saying, “Maybe it’s time for me to move, you know. I can afford to go,” she later clarified she would not actually exit the country. However, she still won’t say his name, as she reiterated in their bizarre wake on Wednesday.

Do we really dive a damn what British actresses think of our President?

Sophie Turner also revealed her reasoning behind moving back to the UK post-split from Joe Jonas only last month. Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar magazine, she shared, “Every city we ended up in, the first thing I’d do was find a British shop and stock up on a month’s worth of chocolate.” Delving into her thoughts on America’s political climate, she continued, “The gun violence, Roe v. Wade being overturned… everything just kind of piled on. I’m so happy to be back. It felt as if my life was on pause until I returned to England. I just never really feel like myself when I’m not in London, with my friends and family.”

Good riddance. Any that I missed? Sound off in the comments.
