Detective Comics v1 #418, 1971 - Investigating a stolen commercial drugs, the Batman suddenly encounters the Creeper as a foe and not a former ally. Neal Adams cleverly uses a billboard to announce the character's guest appearance in the issue. Rather than a sole focus on Batman, his layout puts the heroes on equal footing. Adams leaves ample amount of negative space to offset all the typographic elements. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Carmine Infantino, Murphy Anderson and Gil Kane.
