“Doctor Strange of Asgard – Part 05”

There were many multitaskers who hailed from Midgard, but Doctor Stephen Strange considered himself one of the better practitioners of this concept. However, what does one do when an assassin lunges from an invisible stature, attempting to murder such a sorcerer who is casting the Spell of Ahkrynon? Such a multitasker should not rely on skill alone to stop such an attack. Friends and allies do help in these situations. Thankfully, Roskva the Troll Slayer just happened to be wandering by the tavern in which the good doctor was staying.

It was about time for the acting Sorcerer Supreme of Asgard to solve the mystery of the rogue assassin. As Roskva battles the masked assailant, Strange must finish his spell to become attuned to the magic of Asgard. If he fails, his freedom and reputation will be lost to the prison underneath Asgard’s capitol.

Will Doctor Strange complete the spell he so desperately needs to fight back against Asgardian magic? Who is the mysterious killer hiding behind masks and illusions? Why do all roads lead to Yggdrasil, the World Tree? Collect the series to find out!

Reviewer Notes

If the boardgame “Clue” was a comic book, then it would be Doctor Strange of Asgard.  This is a very fun series with some interesting plot twists. The main storyline ends here in issue #05, but leads to a Doctor Strange #450 one-shot which will celebrate the history of the character. I will definitely be looking for that comic book in the near future.

This issue was full of fun and mystery, and the art by Carlos Magno was beautifully done. I give it and the series as a whole five out of five stars. If you’re a fan of Doctor Strange or Thor, you will want to add this series to your collection.
