Digital comics platform GlobalComix (available on iOS/Android and web) is the digital mecca for comics all around the world. From DC Comics to Archie, GlobalComix has it all. But it is about to get even better. If you’ve somehow managed to go through their catalog of over 100,000 comics, guess what? You can now try your hand at manga.
Yes, manga. And not just a handful—thousands.
With who? Well, this groundbreaking partnership is with none other than Kodansha, one of Japan’s most iconic manga publishers. This move is set to dramatically expand global access to some of the most beloved titles in manga history. The deal marks GlobalComix’s first ever collaboration with a major Japanese manga publisher, signaling “a new era for manga accessibility and global reach.” And they’re not exaggerating.
On August 21, readers will gain access to more than 500 handpicked books from Kodansha’s catalog, spanning action, romance, sci-fi, and fantasy. The launch lineup includes fan favorites such as Attack on Titan, Witch Hat Atelier, Vinland Saga, and more. Hooray for better accessibility!
A week later, on August 27, thousands of additional manga volumes will arrive, including day-and-date simulpubs and a massive back catalog of popular series. All Kodansha titles will be sold a-la-carte, with GlobalComix Gold members receiving exclusive purchase discounts.
Highlighted series launching August 21 include:
- Attack on Titan
- Battle Angel Alita (including Last Order and Mars Chronicle)
- Boys Run the Riot
- Cardcaptor Sakura (Collector’s Edition & Clear Card)
- Ghost in the Shell (including Stand Alone Complex)
- Initial D

“We here at Kodansha are thrilled to be bringing our unmatched and deep catalog of manga to the growing community of comics fans at GlobalComix!” said Alvin Lu, President & Chief Executive Officer at Kodansha USA.
“Our mission at GlobalComix is to make manga and comics of all kinds accessible to fans everywhere,” said Eric Tapper, VP of Business Development and Co-Founder of GlobalComix. “This partnership isn’t just a content milestone; it’s a major leap forward in building a truly global comics platform. And this is only the beginning of what we have planned for manga on GlobalComix.”
As a fan, I couldn’t agree more with Eric. This isn’t just another app update—it’s a game-changer. GlobalComix is on a mega streak of correct decisions, standing at the top of the digital comics world. The platform is already a one-stop shop for comics lovers, but now it’s aiming to become a paradise for manga fans too. I seriously cannot wait for what else they have waiting for us manga fans.
With a vast, diverse, and ever-growing library, the only real question is: Why isn’t this app on your phone already?
Fans can follow Kodansha on GlobalComix.com to receive notifications when titles become available.
