EXCLUSIVE: Witness Gwen Stacy's Bloody Debut as Gwenpool

Marvel is pulling a major shocker by having Gwen Stacy be resurrected by the Weapon X project, and transformed into a new and deadlier version of Gwenpool, and in this CBR Exclusive preview of next week's Gwenpool #1, we will share Gwen Stacy's bloody debut as the new Gwenpool, as she faces off against an elite group of Weapon X agents before she is allowed to go free and cause mayhem under the direction of her mysterious new boss.

Gwenpool #1 is from writer Cavan Scott, artist Stefano Nesi, color artist Matt Milla, and letterer Ariana Maher, and it quickly throws the reader into a whole new world for Gwen Stacy, one of blood and gore that leaves everyone wondering - what happened to Gwen Stacy?!

In the preview pages, we see a group of Weapon X agents try to locate X-31, the test subject that was once Gwen Stacy, but is now Gwenpool (X-31, of course, is a clever reference to the fact that Gwen Stacy made her debut in Amazing Spider-Man #31). X-31 dispatches them in various gory ways, even beheading one of the agents. We learn that while this is very real (and very deadly) for the agents, it is all a training exercise for X-31.

At the end of the exercise, with X-31 having killed all of her foes, her mysterious boss (who she jokingly calls the "Great Architect") tells her that she can finally go on her first assignment, where she is to hunt down and kill three Deathloks that have gone missing. As the preview ends, the mysterious leader jokes that he's not worried about Gwenpool being on the loose, he's worried about the rest of the world having to DEAL with her. You'll have to pick up a copy of Gwenpool #1 next week to see how true his concerns are!
