Image's Hack/Slash and Bodybags crossover is heading back to print.

One of Image Comics' fan-favorite horror series is being rushed back to print after completely selling out at the distributor level. The series is led by Eisner Award-nominated creator Tim Seeley.

Hack/Slash: Body Bags was announced earlier this year and sees Seeley's original Hack/Slash series crossover with the late Jason Pearson's Body Bags characters. It is planned to be a four-part miniseries, with the original Hack/Slash artist Stefano Caselli providing artwork. Image Comics' press release announcing the second printing mirrored fans' enthusiasm for the new title. "We knew people were clamoring for more Body Bags, but this sell-out in just a few days tells us the enthusiasm was as big as Panda’s love for her gun!" Hack/Slash: Body Bags #1's second printing will go on sale Nov. 27.

The solicitation for the first issue teases the crossover's action-packed story. "When slasher hunters Cassie Hack & Vlad roll into Terminus, Georgia in search of a killer...they’re instantly up to their asses in bounty hunters! Meanwhile, Mack “Clownface” Delgado needs to school his daughter Panda in the ways of Bodybagging, and it needs to happen quickly, which means a private school lock-in for baggers in training—and a teen-slicing slasher. Big knives, short skirts, and swear words will fly."

HACK/SLASH: BODY BAGS #1 (SECOND PRINTING)

  • On Sale Nov. 27

The Hack/Slash: Body Bags series features characters from Pearson's series as they find themselves in Tim Seeley's Hack/Slash Universe. Pearson's original Body Bags series was a launch title for Dark Horse's Blanc Noir titles in 1996 and was renowned for its large amount of blood, violence, killing and cursing. Seeley's Hack/Slash ran from 2004-2015 and was resurrected from 2017-2018, with the series featuring a mix of original villains and crossover characters.

Horror Crossover Pays Respect to Original Body Bags Series

When Image Comics announced Seeley's Hack/Slash: Body Bags crossover earlier this year, Kevin Gardner, the friend and former publisher of original Body Bags creator Jason Pearson spoke about how the new book came to be. "After I spoke with Tim it was immediately clear that he was a huge fan of Body Bags, that Jason’s work had been a strong influence on him, and that this was something he and Stefano really wanted to do," Gardner said. "We talked about possible ideas, and I could see how this could be something special."
