Filmmaker Neill Blomkamp, best known for District 9, is stepping into artificial intelligence filmmaking, and the move is already drawing strong reactions. Blomkamp announced on X that he has created a new short film titled NIGHTBORNE, a 13-minute sci-fi horror project made entirely with AI-generated imagery using Seedance 2.0. Blomkamp called the film a “full test” of the workflow and said it marks the beginning of a larger plan.
