G.I. Combat v1 #104, 1964 - Temporarily blinded after an armored car explosion, a GI insists on helping the Haunted Tank on its mission. Joe Kubert is well known for his gritty Sgt. Rock stories, but his work here is just as compelling. Kubert's climactic scene opens the story, but Russ Heath's cover version is even better. The lighting is superb, allowing the enemy plane to dominate the main characters. Other artists in this issue include Jack Abel. This is 35 of 190 G.I. Combat issues by Kubert. /// select Heath cover
