Definitely a comic book VIP. Goodwin was key to the launches of Epic Comics and Marvel’s New Universe. He brought Star Wars into the medium. He was the first writer of an Iron Man series (the character had previously appeared regularly in Tales of Suspense), and was the first person to include Tony’s father, Howard, in a story. He created Spider-Woman (the first one–Jessica Drew), Luke Cage, and Shaper of Worlds.
