DC Studios continues to build momentum for its evolving cinematic universe with the announcement that rising actor Aaron Pierre has joined the cast of the upcoming feature film, "Man of Tomorrow". The project will serve as a follow-up to "Superman" (2025), further expanding the interconnected storytelling being developed by DC Studios co-chief James Gunn.

Pierre will portray John Stewart, one of DC's most prominent Green Lanterns, bringing the character from television to the big screen after first debuting in the upcoming "Lanterns" series which is set to premiere on HBO and stream on HBO Max in August, 2026. The casting underscores DC Studios' strategy of weaving together its film and television projects into a unified narrative, allowing characters to move across platforms within the same shared universe.

The film will again feature David Corenswet as Superman and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Early reports indicate that the story will involve a high-stakes conflict with the powerful alien intelligence Brainiac, with Superman and Luthor navigating a complex relationship as they confront a larger cosmic threat.

Written and directed by Gunn, "Man of Tomorrow" is scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 9, 2027. Production is expected to begin in 2026, with filming planned in Georgia, Ohio, and the United Kingdom as DC Studios continues to expand the scope of its rebooted cinematic universe.
