He-Man Creator’s Family Asks Fans for Medical Help

Amazon plans to release a new Masters of the Universe movie in 2026. The film marks the first live-action take on the story since the 1987 version. Nicholas Galitzine stars as Adam Glenn, the Crown Prince of Eternia. He returns from Earth as an adult. The plot shows him rediscover his birthright and become He-Man. Jared Leto and Morena Baccarin also appear in the cast. The movie hits theaters on June 5, 2026. Amazon spent about $200 million on production. The studio expects a big box office hit next summer.

Roger Sweet created He-Man and Masters of the Universe. His wife Marlene Sweet shared tough family news in a GoFundMe post. Doctors diagnosed Roger with dementia. His condition worsened over recent years. Marlene moved him to a full-time memory care facility. The cost runs $10,200 each month. Medicare does not cover memory care. Roger suffered an injury on a walk. He came home with bruises but could not remember falling. An emergency room visit led to ICU admission. Tests found two brain bleeds.

Marlene started the GoFundMe to help pay for Roger’s care, and over one thousand fans have already donated a total of over $84K to support the Sweet family. She told MovieWeb how MOTU fans have really stepped up.
