HeroesCon 2025: The East Coast’s Friendliest Comic Book Extravaganza Returns

1 week ago 5

The much-anticipated HeroesCon, one of the nation’s premier comic book conventions, is set to return to the Charlotte Convention Center this week starting Friday, June 20 and running all weekend.  This year’s event promises to be bigger than ever, with hundreds of exhibitors, artists, writers, and creators gathering in the expansive Artist Alley. Fans will have the rare opportunity to mingle directly with industry professionals and purchase exclusive comics, prints, and collectibles.

Founded in 1982 by Shelton Drum, owner of the renowned Heroes Aren’t Hard To Find comics shop, HeroesCon has become a staple for comic fans across the country, celebrated for its comics-first focus and welcoming, family-friendly environment. The convention’s reputation for goodwill and its impressive guest list—built largely through word-of-mouth and a strong sense of community—continues to draw attendees from every region of the United States. It is renowned for its comics-first and family-friendly atmosphere, where attendees can interact directly with comics professionals and exhibitors.

Critics and fans consistently praise HeroesCon for its strong focus on comics and creators, its welcoming and family-friendly atmosphere, and its impressive Artist Alley, which features hundreds of artists and writers. Many fans consider HeroesCon one of the best conventions for meeting comic creators and engaging with the comic book community in a more intimate setting compared to the massive, media-driven events like NYCC. Unlike massive pop culture expos, HeroesCon Charlotte stays true to its roots—it’s all about comic books and the people who love them. Expect to see top-tier artists, writers, and publishers, along with passionate indie creators who bring fresh and exciting stories to the industry.

This is why HeroesCon is widely considered a “must” on the summer convention circuit and attracts fans, exhibitors, and creators from all over the country to the Charlotte Convention Center. The Con schedule is from 11 AM – 7 PM on Friday, 10 AM – 6 PM on Saturday, and 11 AM – 6 PM on Sunday, so make sure you arrive early to get a jump on everyone.! Grab your single or three day tickets here. Kids 16 and under get in free with a ticketed adult.
