Marvel Comics has revealed Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Nic Klein‘s Incredible Hulk run will be relaunched as Infernal Hulk this November. Picking up from October’s Incredible Hulk #30, the series will find Dr. Bruce Banner separated from his giant alter-ego, which is now being possessed by the Eldest, the firstborn of the Mother of Horrors.

The evil known as Eldest has literally torn Bruce Banner and the Hulk apart and taken the Hulk’s body as their own. This new, unstoppable Infernal Hulk is ten times the monster that everyone always feared Hulk would be. Their diabolical plan is to plunge the world back into ancient horrors by transforming our heroes into nightmarish beasts! Meanwhile, the indomitable Bruce Banner, though powerless, will stop at nothing to thwart their evil schemes!

Johnson states, “I’ve been promising Hulk fans the biggest, boldest status quo change in Hulk’s history, and that time is finally here. The next few issues of Incredible Hulk give fans all the answers they’ve been waiting for about Eldest and the Mother of Horrors, and Infernal Hulk is the beginning of a terrifying new normal, not just for the Hulk series but for the entire Marvel Universe.”

Klein adds, “Working on Hulk, whether it be Incredible, and now Infernal with Phillip has been a dream. Phillip is not only an amazing world-builder and craftsman who pours so much heart into this book, but he has also become a great friend and fantastic collaborator throughout this. Infernal Hulk is where the journey was always going to go all along, and I’m excited to see reader’s reactions to it. I know I’m putting a lot of blood, sweat, ad tears into it, as always.”

Issue #1 will be released with two different covers by Klein on November 26, two-and-a-half years after the Eldest and its Mother was introduced in the first issue of their run. In the meantime, volume five of the current series’ trade paperbacks, collecting issues #20-24, is available now, and issue #28 will bow on August 27; for more information, head to Marvel.com to check out the covers and synopses for all the remaining issues of The Incredible Hulk, before his latest, and most terrible transformation yet.

Additionally, the Hulk and his family are currently embroiled in Imperial, which will conclude with issue #4 on October 29. The Jade Giant himself will appear in next week’s Imperial War: Black Panther, and his cousin will star in the following week’s Planet She-Hulk, which will set the stage for her new, similarly titled solo series by Stephanie Phillips and Aaron Kuder, starting November 5. Could there be a crossover, given the scale of the Infernal Hulk’s plans? Well, that remains unknown at the time of writing.
