Rumors over who will take on the role of the next James Bond shifted again after a new report from celebrity site Deuxmoi appeared to shut down claims that Australian actor Jacob Elordi had been offered the part. The February 21 update stated that multiple industry sources confirmed Elordi is not being considered for 007 in Amazon’s upcoming reboot.
Earlier chatter suggested the Frankenstein and Euphoria star was next in line, with production supposedly kicking off in October 2026. That claim, sourced from an anonymous tip, led to heavy betting in Elordi’s favor, placing him above reported contenders such as Callum Turner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Theo James. But Deuxmoi’s new reporting says one insider insisted, “[Elordi] will not [play Bond]. [It] will likely be a no-name.”
The outlet further noted that production is still far from starting. One source said director Denis Villeneuve, long rumored to oversee the reboot, is still completing work on Dune: Part 3. The same source added that casting will not begin until summer and that no writer has yet been attached to James Bond 26. Another informed contact told Deuxmoi, “No one is locked in yet, but there are a few folks they’re still circling. Ninety-nine percent sure it’ll be a Brit any way you slice it.”
This latest development has reopened speculation around other rumored names, including actor Callum Turner, whose strong odds and British background fit long-standing expectations for the role. With Elordi reportedly out, Turner could remain among the most credible candidates as Amazon refines its search for a fresh face to relaunch the iconic spy franchise.
Public debate continues across social media, where fans remain divided between supporting a new, lesser-known actor and backing established stars. For now, though, neither Amazon nor the Bond producers have confirmed any casting direction. The hunt for 007 appears far from over, and the guessing game around Callum Turner and others is likely to stay alive well into the summer.
