James Gunn and Zack Snyder Make Surprise Cameo in "Rick and Morty"

Filmmakers James Gunn and Zack Snyder guest star as animated versions of themselves in the latest episode of "Rick and Morty", adding a hilarious, self-referential twist to Season 8. The surprise cameos appear in Episode 7, titled "Ricker Than Fiction," which aired July 6th on Adult Swim.
The two directors join the show to parody the ongoing fan debate around their contrasting approaches to Superman, with each poking fun at the other's cinematic style. According to series showrunner Scott Marder, both Gunn and Snyder were fully onboard with the idea and helped shape their dialogue, embracing the chance to have fun with their public personas.
The episode marks one of the most high-profile guest appearances in "Rick and Morty" history and continues the show's tradition of mixing sharp satire with pop culture commentary.
