Lionsgate has confirmed new details for the upcoming 4K Ultra HD release of Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, giving fans a closer look at what they will get when the long-awaited version hits shelves later this month.
According to Blu-ray.com, the release includes a Dolby Vision and HDR presentation of the film, along with a feature called The Lost Chapter. Fans will also get a 40-page booklet curated by Quentin Tarantino, a 70mm film still, collectible character cards, and two posters from past theatrical screenings. Subtitle options include English, English SDH, and Spanish.
There is one clear downside. The full runtime clocks in at 253 minutes, and the film does not fit on a single disc. Viewers will have to swap discs during playback, much like owning separate copies of Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Kill Bill: Vol. 2. Even so, the added content and extended sequences are expected to make this release an easy purchase for collectors and longtime fans.

The release arrives as attention builds around Tarantino’s next move. The director has long said he plans to retire after ten films. His previously announced project, The Movie Critic, was expected to be his final work. That plan changed when Tarantino decided the story felt too close to Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood. He chose to walk away rather than risk repeating himself.
For now, Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair serves as a reminder of what made Tarantino a major force in modern film. His work spans multiple genres, from the crime story in Reservoir Dogs to the Western settings of Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight. Each project carries a distinct voice, but few match the scale of his two-part revenge saga.
That story began in 2003 with Kill Bill: Vol. 1, where Uma Thurman’s Bride is betrayed and left for dead by Bill, played by David Carradine. The story continued in 2004 with Kill Bill: Vol. 2, which followed her path to final revenge. For years, fans debated which film worked better on its own.
Tarantino’s original vision always treated the story as one complete film. That vision finally reached wider audiences last year when Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair received broader screenings and later streamed on Peacock. Now, the 4K release brings that unified cut into homes with upgraded visuals and added material.
Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is now available for pre-order and is set to release on July 28.
