Marvel Comics Proves Why One Predator is the Most Terrifying of Them All

Marvel Comics is unleashing the most terrifying Predator of all time on New York City.

A new preview for Predator versus Spider-Man #4 from Marvel Comics opens to find Mary Jane Watson and another young woman running for their lives from the threat of the Yautja hunter known as Skinner. Unlike other Yautja from across the Predator franchise who hunt for sport or glory or survival, Skinner relishes terrorizing his victims, mocking their cries for help and adorning himself in their flesh. As such, he is despised not just by those he hunts, but by his very own kind, three of whom are currently on their way to put the rogue Predator down for good.

Predator versus Spider-Man is the latest in a trio of crossover titles from Marvel Comics, the first of which was 2023's Predator versus Wolverine by writer Benjamin Percy and artists Ken Lashley, Greg Land, and Andrea Di Vito. The four-issue miniseries set an objectively foreboding tone, all while pairing up two of the deadliest fighters in the entirety of pop culture. The series was followed in 2024 by Predator versus Black Panther by Percy and artists Chris Allen and Sean Damien Hill.

The official synopsis for Predator versus Spider-Man #4 from Marvel Comics reads, "The Predators finally have Skinner in their crosshairs, but another great hunter stands in their way: Kraven. As these three competing forces battle their way through the nighttime streets, Spider-Man takes to the rooftops, where he discovers something that threatens to destroy all of New York City!"

Marvel Comics has been publishing some of the most explosive Predator stories of all time in recent years, even beyond its crossovers with the publisher's own characters. In 2022, Marvel Comics published the first of three Predator limited series starring the franchise's latest hero, Theta Berwick. Orphaned by the Predators who slaughtered her parents and left to be raised by the sentient artificial intelligence onboard her ship, the Sandpiper, Theta grew up to become a force of nature that even the whole of Yautja society feared. More recently, Marvel Comics published the first of the two-issue Predator: Black, White & Blood anthology series that puts a whole new spin on the beloved format.

Predator vs. Spider-Man #4 goes on sale July 16 from Marvel Comics.
