Growing up in rural Iowa as a reluctant reader, it all changed when he started reading the original Fantastic Four by Lee/Kirby. Now Austin can't stop reading. He has written about comics for Comic Book Yeti and he has also written tons of indie comics, best known for Big Guns Stupid Rednecks.

This new hero has recently joined the current Avengers roster. Deemed one of Marvel's strongest characters yet, David Colton has flexed a new power on the pages of the comics.

David Colton first made his debut in Captain America #1. The character has recently gotten a huge upgrade in strength and now boasts Sentry-level strength. David joins the Avengers to take down the Red Hulk. What makes the battle between the two so exciting is the fact that Thunderbolt Ross used to antagonize David.

While the fight takes place inside the pages of Avengers: Armageddon #2, Armageddon/X-Men #1 CGD 2026 reveals more about Red Hulk's plans. Red Hulk is using a device stolen from Doctor Doom to make his plan, leaving zero room for error. He knew exactly who the heroes would try to stop him, and he was prepared. What he was not prepared for was David to arrive with super strength, flight, stamina, and immunity to precognitive visions.

While it is still unknown what all the powers David Colton now possesses. Marvel has confirmed he's "as powerful as Sentry," making him one of the strongest Marvel characters. Colton was previously a super-soldier, but recently gained new powers from an origin box, which gave him the powers of an unknown superhuman from Earth-6160.

Avengers: Armageddon #2 is by the creative team of writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Dike Ruan. It features the epic battle between David Colton and Red Hulk, in which Colton slams him through a mountain. As a relatively new character and this strong, fans can only speculate about what plans Marvel has for the character.

"David is a Captain America lost to time, coming to life in a post-9/11 world. Steve Rogers, his hero, is back and under David’s command. He’s finally meeting his hero. They say to never meet your heroes. It’s been really challenging and satisfying working out David’s story and how a modern world and war would affect someone taking on this mantle. It’s been especially satisfying writing Steve, seeing this new world through David’s eyes, and what it means for his journey," writer Chip Zydarsky told Marvel when explaining David's role in Marvel Comics.

Only time will tell what other powers the character possesses. Fans have been speculating online that Colton is actually evil and in on the plan with Red Hulk. One thing can be said for sure: David is extremely powerful and a fun new addition to the Marvel Universe.

Avengers: Armageddon #2 is currently available digitally on Marvel Unlimited and in print wherever comic books are sold.
