Thanks for lending us your eyes for a few minutes, Jazz Pickles. If you’d like to donate the use of your ears for a bit, I’ve included a recording of my most recent story on The Naked Cartoonist. I included a recording a couple of weeks ago, and many Pickles enjoyed it, so let’s try it again.

This story is titled “Bizarro Among Savages” and is deeply personal. It’s about a book tour I arranged early in my career during which I stayed in the homes of Bizarro readers. You people can be weird, and so was my journey.
It begins like this…
“By my mid-twenties, while my friends were out partying and hooking up, I had a wife and two young children. I was supporting them with a string of odious jobs reserved for the uneducated and unprepared. It was a classic “get rich never” scheme, and it was succeeding.”
Those who’ve already read it left some wonderful comments, for which I am extremely grateful. It’s for terrific folks like you that I write these things. Thanks for your encouragement.
“Gosh, what a ride!…It helps others find meaning to share of our own lives, and your generosity with the same is remarkable and lovely.”
“The ending hit me like a sledgehammer...You make a lot of people happy with your work, and might even make a few THINK (shudder) with your writing.”
“Of all the philosophy available at the stroke of a key, I most enjoy getting mine from, of all places, a cartoonist…Sometimes your words can be more graphic than your art. I actually coughed up my coffee…Thanks for sharing your brilliant humor and for your perspective on the world.”
“That you even take the time to record the soundtrack of your life is beyond amazing. I support a few artists working in your medium, but I don't think any of the others bare their souls as you do.”
