Comic book fans, get ready for a major reunion: Eisner award-winning legends Klaus Janson and Mike Baron are teaming up for the first time since their blockbuster run on Marvel’s The Punisher in 1987. The duo is joining forces on CALICO: Morality Play, the latest entry in Sigma Comics’ gritty, animal-rights vigilante saga. This new trade paperback, following CALICO: Street Math, clocks in at 176 pages and just launched on Kickstarter.
Janson, known as one of the greatest comic artists ever-famous for iconic collaborations with Frank Miller on Daredevil and Batman-will handle cover art. Baron, who helped make The Punisher a household name and co-created The Punisher’s tech-savvy ally Microchip with Janson, is writing the first of six chapters. The rest of the story comes from H.H. German, the Bronx-born ex-boxer who created CALICO. “We are beyond honored to have two industry legends join us in our fight against animal cruelty,” German said. “Their enormous contributions to this book will quickly remind you why they’re among the best in the biz.”
