Reddit: Your Guide To The Different Comics Subreddits

19 hours ago 5

Reddit was known as the “front page of the internet” for the longest time. (They now refer to themselves as the “heart of the internet”.) For many, that rings true, with the site home to over 100,000 communities – or subreddits as they’re referred to. Places where people can come to share and discuss a variety of topics, from the serious to the silly and everything in between.

There are plenty of comic subreddits out there. Dozens of them. Some of them are broad, discussing a wide range of topics. Others are niche, narrowing themselves to a character or a single aspect of the comic book community. It highlights the eclectic nature of comics and those who passionate about them. As a result, there should be something for every kind of comic book fan.

However, many subreddits are hidden by Reddit’s gargantuan size. This guide surfaces as many of the comic-centric ones as possible through a handy list. Whether you’re new to Reddit or a veteran, hopefully, it will point you to vibrant communities and great discussions.

How to participate

Reddit can feel chaotic if you’re new to it. So, before you jump into it, here are a few tips to make your experience more satisfying.

Find the right subreddit for you

As you can see above, there are A LOT of comic-centric subreddits out there. Some will be better fits for your interests than others. If you’re not sure, it’s okay to lurk. Read what people have to say, upvote things you agree with or find interesting, and see what the community is like. You might find that some are not your cup of tea and may gravitate towards others.

Make sure you follow the rules

Each subreddit has its own rules. These are put in place and enforced by the moderators to make the experience as enjoyable for everyone and to keep conversations on topic. Some of these rules are common sense, like don’t be a jerk. Others may be more subreddit-specific.

Each subreddit lists its rules in an easily accessible way. If you’re on desktop, these rules are either listed or linked to in the sidebar on the homepage for any subreddit. For mobile and the app, they’re accessible via the top of the subreddit’s homepage.

Not following these rules can get you banned, either temporarily or permanently.

Have fun

Remember to enjoy yourself and have fun discussing the things you love. That involves interacting with Reddit in a way that feels comfortable for you. Don’t feel like you need to chase achievements or reply to every thread. Do what works for you.

Have your say

Do you frequent any comic subreddits? Share your thoughts in the comments below or via Bluesky, Facebook, X, or Mastodon.
