The Rocky Horror Show will reportedly be returning for a new comic book in time for Halloween later this year. Dark Horse Comics has the comic book license for the cult classic franchise.
Bleeding Cool reports that Dark Horse will publish Rocky Horror Show #1 for Halloween 2025, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 1975 Rocky Horror Picture Show film starring Tim Curry as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a transvestite alien scientist. The issue will reportedly be written by Magdalene Visaggio, the acclaimed comic book writer known for Kim & Kim and Vagrant Queen. Her work has been nominated for two Eisner Awards and three GLAAD Media Awards, with Vagrant Queen being adopted into a Syfy television series back in 2020.

The Rocky Horror Show began in 1973 with a stage show that drew inspiration from horror B movies and science fiction. Two years later, it was adapted into film as The Rocky Horror Picture Show, an independent film starring Tim Curry in his debut along with Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick. Despite an initial negative reception, The Rocky Horror Picture Show quickly became a cult classic, and it is still in limited release in 2025, making it the longest-running theatrical release in film history. In 2016, a tribute TV film was broadcast on Fox, with Frank-N-Furter played by Laverne Cox.

Trading cards, action figures, board games and even Funko pops have been released featuring the story's colorful cast of characters over the years. Dark Horse's rumored 50th anniversary comic wouldn't even be the first time the story has been adapted in comic book format.
