Dark Horse Comics has officially unveiled the next chapter in the Resident Alien saga in the form of a brand-new comic book series. Written by original scribe Peter Hogan and featuring art by co-creator Steve Parkhouse, Resident Alien: The Book of Changes will kick off a whole new story arc for the comic book series, the hit television adaptation of which came to a close less than a week ago with the end of its fourth season. The first issue of Resident Alien: The Book of Changes is currently slated to go on sale August 20.

The official solicit synopsis for Resident Alien: The Book of Changes #1 reads, "Return to Patience, USA, the seemingly sleepy town with numerous mysteries and secrets—and a handful of those are interplanetary! Harry and Asta, having recently welcomed their child Clover into the world, now welcome several visitors from Harry’s home planet." Dark Horse Comics has also confirmed that fan-favorite comic book character Agent Jones will be making his return in the series' first issue, which could mark the beginning of a whole new set of problems for Harry Vanderspeigle.

Created by Hogan and Parkhouse, Resident Alien was first published back in 2012 and quickly found a fervent fan base to call its own. The series follows Hah Re, an alien biologist who is stranded on Earth and takes on the persona of Harry Vanderspeigle, a retired doctor who sets up shop in Patience, Washington. Throughout the series' eight volumes so far, Harry not only learns what it means to be human, but also learns what it means to be a hero by solving various crimes and foiling dangerous plots, both terrestrial and of the interstellar variety.

In 2021, Syfy released its television adaptation of Resident Alien starring Hollywood icon Alan Tudyk as Harry (among others). The series' core cast also includes Sar Tomko as doctor's assistant and Harry's love interest Asta Twelvetrees, Corey Reynolds as former Washington, D.C. officer Sheriff Mike Thompson, and Alice Wetterlund as pub owner D'arcy Bloom. Resident Alien garnered unanimously positive reviews from critics and audiences alike, earning it a near-perfect 98% "Fresh" rating from critics via review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, as well as an 87% approval rating from viewers.
