SDCC ’25: DSTLRY & Neon Ichiban announce panel & live draw schedules

David Steinberger and Chip Mosher have announced panel and live draw schedules for their publisher, DSTRLY, and their recently-announced digital comics platform, Neon Ichiban, at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2025. Attendees can learn more about Neon Ichiban and what’s happening at DSTLRY between Thursday, July 24 and Sunday, July 27. Neither company will have a full-time booth on the main show floor this year.

Thursday, July 24, 3-4 p.m., Room 25ABC

The editor stands at the nexus of the comic pipeline, straddling the creative and the logistical to guide every script, bristol board, and lettering file into a glorious whole. This panel dives into how the best editors and creators harmonize to create epic stories that will be read for decades, while only taking weeks to produce. Join Will Dennis (DSTLRY Founding Editor, DC/Vertigo) and Pornsak Pichetshote (Former Vertigo Editor), alongside illustration maestro Jock (Gone, Batman) as they pull back the curtain on the process of cultivating dreams to the printing press. Building New Worlds with DSTLRY

The pioneers of creator-owned comics work whole-cloth to not only construct characters and plot, but conjure sprawling worlds with a scope that defies belief. The creators on this panel represent this era’s biggest mythmakers, traversing media to establish new frontiers of fiction. Join Tula Lotay (Somna), Joe Henderson (The Big Burn), and some other potential special guests as they deconstruct the art of summoning new universes from their imaginations.

DSTLRY: The Art of the Cover
Saturday, July 26, 3:30-4:30 p.m., Room 5AB

The most striking comic covers condense entire plotlines and pages into one iconic image. This panel unites a host of the most talented, trailblazing artists to prove that sometimes you can judge a book by its cover. Join Becky Cloonan (Somna), Natalie Andrewson (cover artist on Through the Boughs), Soo Lee (cover artist on Warm Fusion), and some secret guests as they discuss the art of crafting inspired eye candy. Moderated by DSTLRY Marketing Director Sean Edgar.

Igniting this Summer, Neon Ichiban is a new multi-publisher digital comics and manga platform revolutionizing how fans read and collect. This hub allows readers to get their digital comics signed and sketched with Digital Remarques, a new innovation that empowers fans to bring the convention to them, giving access to original, one-of-a-kind art and signatures on their digital comics. Join world-class artists including Cully Hamner (Blue Beetle, Life cover artist), Joshua Hixson (The Deviant, Spectregraph cover artist), and Natalie Andrewson (Through the Boughs cover artist) as they sketch in real time and talk about their art process. Moderated by Neon Ichiban co-founders David Steinberger & Chip Mosher. 

The Jock Live Draw

No artist’s work is as inimitably recognizable as Jock’s. His hands have redefined such mythological figures as Batman and Judge Dredd, as well as sculpted new creations like The Losers, Wytches, and the tortured souls of DSTLRY’s You Won’t Feel a Thing. Join Jock as he draws in real time alongside moderator and legendary editor Will Dennis.
