Spider-Gwen is getting a brand-new series from Marvel Comics that will launch a new era for the character. All-New Spider-Gwen: Ghost-Spider will officially anchor the character to the main Marvel Universe, launching out of the character's currently running series.

Arriving this August, All-New Spider-Gwen: Ghost-Spider #1 will be written by Stephanie Phillips with art by Paolo Villanelli, following up on their currently running Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider, which will conclude this July. After leaving her home dimension and becoming trapped in Earth-616 (the primary continuity for Marvel Comics), Spider-Gwen has gone on adventures involving Loki and the TVA, as well as the reality-altering Cosmic Cube. In the new series, her stay in the main Marvel Universe is about to become permanent.

Spider-Gwen Will Now Call Earth-616 Home in Marvel's New Series

Marvel unveiled the main cover art for All-New Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider #1 by David Marquez and a variant cover by Nogi San when announcing the new series at Collider. A teaser for the comics foreshadows that Gwen's adventures on Earth-616 won't be stress-free: "Gwen Stacy isn’t from this Earth, but she’s here to stay, so it’s time to make herself at home! A new costume, a new home life– heck, she’s even starting a new band! Unfortunately for Gwen, new threats are also heading her way, starting with one that just might be her own fault! Follow the Ghost-Spider as she settles into Earth-616 to stay!"

"For Gwen, this new start is about possibility," Series writer Stephanie Phillips told Collider. "She's carrying the weight of her past, but she's finally in a place where she can build something new -- new allies, new purpose, and maybe even a new sense of self... or, recovering an element of herself we haven’t seen in a while. Like playing in a band. (Spoilers!)"

Phillips also teased Gwen's character arc and evolution in the new comics and how the new series will be a journey suited for Marvel fans both young and old. "The best part has been exploring Gwen’s resilience—she’s funny, flawed, and constantly fighting to define her own story," Phillips added. "Getting to show that journey to readers of all ages is an incredible privilege."

In a CBR exclusive preview of next week's Amazing Spider-Man, see Spidey fight a shocking villain to save the life of one of his oldest enemies

Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider, Phillips and Villanelli's currently running series featuring the character, began in May 2024 with Gwen truly becoming Ghost-Spider when she moved full-time to the universe where Gwen Stacy died many years prior. Gwen's move to Earth-616 brought with it many questions, including why she left her original universe (Earth-65), all while she tries to adjust to her new life and keep her identity a secret from other classic Spider-Man characters, including Peter Parker, Miles Morales and Silk.

All-New Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider #1 can be pre-ordered at local comic book shops now ahead of its release this August.
