Marvel Comics' next bloodthirsty serial killer is set to bring Spider-Man and Venom back together, all while Carnage charts their own gruesome path.
The official solicits for Marvel Comics' February lineup are in, and the next wall-crawling comic book crossover already sounds like the most brutal of them all. Written by Joe Kelly, Al Ewing, and Charles Soule with art by Jesús Saiz, Amazing Spider-Man/Venom: Death Spiral #1 is set to kick off a terrifying new storyline that will run through April. The series will pick up in the wake of the events of Venom, Amazing Spider-Man, and Eddie Brock: Carnage, with the latter playing a particularly unsettling role in the story to come.

The official solicit synopsis for Amazing Spider-Man: Death Spiral #1 from Marvel Comics reads, "A new super powered serial killer is on the loose and they’re coming for Spidey, Venom and everyone in between. But what terrible secret has CARNAGE learned and what does it have to do with Spider-Man?!"
While Eddie Brock is most commonly associated with the Venom symbiotes, things have been shockingly different in the wake of Marvel Comics' Venom War. After losing Eddie Brock as its host, the Venom symbiote was forced to form an unlikely bond with none other than Mary Jane Watson, who herself was reeling from her encounter with the ancient Arachniote. Since then, the pair have been operating as the All-New Venom, ushering in a bright and shining new era for Marvel's premiere symbiote superhero and doing whatever they can to help those in need.

The Most Important Person In Spider-Man's Life Just Became His Greatest Nightmare
The one person who has kept Peter Parker going through every single tragic turn just became the kind of threat he cannot continue to ignore.
Just as MJ and Venom formed their own bond, Eddie Brock found an even more unlikely new symbiote companion in the form of Carnage. Unfortunately, Eddie's influence has done nothing to quell Carnage's appetite for wanton death and destruction. Over just a few short months, Carnage tormented the world around it largely without Eddie's knowledge, all while tormenting Eddie personally with the vague notion that he wasn't in control of his own body.
Even worse, Carnage only recently uncovered the memories that Eddie had locked away, meaning that the deadliest superpowered serial killer in the history of the Marvel Universe now knows exactly who is hiding behind Spider-Man's iconic mask, not to mention every single other secret that Eddie has been keeping. As such, it will only be a matter of time before Carnage finds a way to use Spider-Man's secret identity to its advantage, which will all but assuredly prove to be the next wedge it drives between itself and its human host.
Amazing Spider-Man/Venom: Death Spiral #1 goes on sale Feb. 25, 2026 from Marvel Comics.
