Spider-Man: Brand New Day May Keep Tom Holland Around Longer

Tom Holland just gave Spider-Man fans something to chew on, and it points to a longer run in the suit than some thought. Days before Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits the big screen, Holland said he is not done swinging, at least if the studio still wants him. Holland has played Peter Parker six times in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Brand New Day will be his fourth solo movie as the web-slinger. That has fueled fresh talk about a recast, especially after Holland recently backed another actor to one day take over the role. Back in June, Holland said he sees a finish line someday, but not yet. He told Variety, “I think the point of it is that I would love to pass the baton on, and I haven’t achieved that yet.” He also said he would likely be pushing it after 37, and he is 30 now. This week, though, Holland sounded far more open-ended. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, he said, “I will do it for as long as they’ll have me. So if Brand New Day does good, I guess we’ll see!” That is hardly the language of a man heading for the exit.
