Stan Lee’s daughter, J.C. Lee, has broken her silence to deny years of accusations that she mistreated her parents. In a heartfelt interview, she called claims of elder abuse “all lies,” insisting her family has already endured enough pain.
J.C. Lee firmly denies ever physically harming her father, the legendary Marvel Comics creator, or her mother, Joan. “ I never ever touched my parents,,” she told Business Insider, addressing a 2018 Hollywood Reporter investigation that accused her of “roughly” grabbing her mother’s arm—leaving a visible bruise—and slamming her father’s head against a chair. While admitting to heated arguments over money, she maintains these conflicts never turned violent. Five people close to Stan Lee during that time backed her account, stating they never witnessed abuse.
The family’s struggles extended beyond personal conflicts. Stan Lee’s former business manager, Keya Morgan, faced criminal charges including elder abuse and theft, but the case collapsed by 2022 when key charges were dismissed. After Stan’s death in 2018, his company, POW! Entertainment, took control of his legacy. J.C. Lee’s lawsuits to reclaim her father’s rights failed twice, leaving her feeling robbed: “I feel these people have taken my life, and they’re eating off gold utensils and I’m eating off plastic.”

Amid these battles, a documentary titled Stan Lee: The Final Chapter aimed to expose the alleged mistreatment Stan faced in his final years. However, the project—which would have focused on his struggles with handlers and legal disputes—never materialized, leaving the full story untold.
J.C. Lee’s emotional interview underscores a family worn down by years of legal fights and public scrutiny. With lawsuits dismissed and trust eroded, she now seeks closure, insisting the abuse claims only deepened their suffering. She is now urging the world to let her father’s legacy rest.
