Star Trek: Section 31, the Paramount+ special event movie starring Michelle Yeoh, has been streaming for a couple of months now. So here at Comics Beat, we thought, “Why not pitch some more possible special event movies?”
So here are our ideas for future stories in the format. While it’s possible we may see more Star Trek special event movies in the future… it’s pretty unlikely that it’ll be any of these. We invite you to share your ideas with us in the comments or over on The Beat’s social media!

Section 31: Oops, All Vulcans! — In this animated special event movie, an all-star, all-Vulcan command crew must travel to the most forbidden location in all of Star Trek: Sha Ka Ree! Lured by the promise of a resurrected Spock, Section 31 agent T’Pol (Jolene) from Star Trek: Lower Decks’ “Fissure Quest” leads a command crew that includes Science Officer T’Lyn (Gabrielle Ruiz) and Security Chief Tuvok (Tim Russ) on a mission too illogical for anyone but a team of Vulcans. Also in the crew is Vulcan Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding) from a parallel timeline where the USS Enterprise crew from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds never undid whatever turns them into Vulcan in season 3. Also, I guess Harry Kim (Garrett Wang) should be there. You know, to offer the human perspective. Sure to be utterly inscrutable for new initiates to the Franchise! — Avery Kaplan
Star Trek: Time War — This miniseries is set during the Temporal Cold War as the Starship Archer jumps around time “putting right what once went wrong.” They jump around and meet up with time-displaced Cristóbal Rios (Santiago Cabrera) during WW III, T’Pol (Jolene) during the Earth-Romulan War, Captain Pike (Anson Mount), and the Enterprise in the musical rift, a young cadet Picard (Ed Speleers) aboard the USS Leondegrance, commanded by Captain Nyota Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding), Beckett Mariner (Tawny Newsome) during the Dominion War, and because it’s Star Trek something goes wrong and they end up in the far future on Discovery or at Starfleet Academy with Instructor Tilly (Mary Wiseman) and her new cadets. — George Carmona 3rd
Star Trek: Qtinuum – Following the crew last seen at the end of Star Trek: Picard lead by Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan), Raffi (Michelle Hurd), and Jack Crusher (Ed Speelers), Qtinuum sees the return of Q (John de Lancie) for one final test: how far is one willing to go in order to save themselves? The crew of the USS Titan-A is now rounded out with a few more bridge crew members, and an ensign that’s caught Jack’s eye who is still trying to learn the ropes. Q puts our team through the ringer thrusting them all into various events throughout the continuum of time and space. Each crew member is given a distinct scenario important to them, and we get to know our crew more through the lens of how these different events affect or have affected them. Q keeps track of the decisions made by the various crew members in order to pass judgement on whether or not this ship is allowed to continue its travels or be destroyed as a warning to humanity. A few highlights of this story would include Jack facing up against Q in ways his father never could, and Seven and Raffi finally getting their happy ending as a couple after many stories of will they/won’t they. — Derrick Crow
Star Trek: Empire of the Vermes — Star Trek is great when it spins gold out of the depths of its many unexplained stories. We wouldn’t have Wrath of Khan without someone thinking “What if we did a sequel to Space Seed?” So in that spirit, I present to you a sequel to one of the most infamous episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, “Conspiracy”. For those not scarred for life as a child by that episode, “Conspiracy” involves a bunch of space worms, eating worms, and a head exploding. It ends with a signal being sent out summoning the rest of the race to come. While that signal was meant to be for the not yet debuted Borg (who originally were envisioned as bugs), it never resolved… until now. Set before Picard, Commander Ro Laren (Michelle Forbes) investigates strange goings on within Starfleet. It would be a down and dirty spy thriller meets early David Cronenberg with Ro investigating who might be infiltrated by these parasitic creatures. Maybe a Worf appearance? Regardless, there’s going to be a lot of gross bugs, body horror, and exploding heads. – D. Morris
Star Trek: Gamma Flight — The discovery of the Bajoran Wormhole gave the Alpha Quadrant instant access to the far-off Gamma Quadrant, but in doing so ninety thousand light-years of space was left unexplored and overlooked. Starfleet has tasked newly promoted Captain Harry Kim (Garret Wang) to take command of the USS Sisko, an Odyssey-class starship to see what lies between Federation space and the territory of the Dominion. This ship is equipped with a trans-warp drive ensuring that the Sisko is never stranded in a distant part of the galaxy, like Kim’s first posting aboard Voyager. Some familiar faces joining Kim are First Officer Ezri Dax (Nicole de Boer), Chief Engineer Sam Rutherford (Eugene Cordero), and Jem’Hadar exchange officer, Honored Elder Goran’Agar (Scott MacDonald), one of the few Jem’Hadar not addicted to Ketracel-white. — George Carmona 3rd
Pog & Dar: Cop Landlords pilot episode — The Lower Decks episode “Parth Ferengi’s Heart Place” introduced us to various Ferengi television programs including their take on the police genre with Pog & Dar: Cop Landlords. Though barely a minute, the concept made a distinct impression on me. To that end, I’d love to see an a full-length special of an entire episode would be quite delightful. As much as I’d love to see live-action version of the Pog & Dar, an animated version would likely be more feasible. Rather than a random episode, this special would imagine what the pilot episode for Pog & Dar would have been i.e. their first time meeting. Think Lethal Weapon only through the Ferengi hyper-capitalist culture. — Taimur Dar
T’Pring’s Salon Takeover — Here’s my quick and dirty pitch: Christopher Guest meets Vulcan humor. A mockumentary where T’Pring (Arlene Martel/Gia Sandhu), the sharp-witted and fancy-haired Vulcan from Star Trek: The Original Series and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, will take over struggling Vulcan salons to whip their stylists into shape with her no-nonsense style. — Ollie Kaplan
