The following contains major spoilers for The Incredible Hulk #25, on sale May 21 from Marvel Comics.
Two absolute powerhouses of the Marvel Universe are about to collide all over again.
The Incredible Hulk #25 picks up shortly after the titular hero and his kid sidekick Charlie defeated the devious skinwalker wearing the face of none other than Clea Strange. While that revelation was a major upset to Hulk and Charlie's journey to cure her of the curse imparted upon her by the ancient Lycana, it is hardly the worst they have to worry about. As it turns out, Thor himself knows all too well the threat that Lycana poses, albeit under another name, and he has no intentions of returning to Asgard without Charlie in tow, even if it means squaring off against the Hulk to make that happen.

The Hulk and Thor have a long history of epic battles between them. The earliest of these took place in the pages of 1963's Avengers #3 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. At the time, the Hulk was on the run from his fellow Avengers, who were looking to corral the raging behemoth before he could do any unnecessary damage. Though this confrontation was relatively short-lived, the pair got their shot at a proper, full-fledged rematch not long after in the opening story from 1964's Journey Into Mystery #112, "The Mighty Thor Battles the Incredible Hulk!" by Stan Lee and Kirby. This latter fight ended with Thor bringing down an entire building on top of the Hulk, only for the latter to slip away unseen rather than being truly defeated by his Asgardian opponent.
Introduced in 2023's Incredible Hulk #1 by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Nic Klein, Charlene "Charlie" Tidwell met the Hulk after escaping an abusive home and surviving on her own on the streets. When the two first crossed paths, the Hulk was attempting to evade an entire legion of monsters, all of whom were hunting him at the behest of the ominous supernatural entity known as the Eldest. Together, Charlie and the Hulk traversed North America, all while forming an unlikely bond that has indebted both the budding young hero and veteran Avenger to one another in ways they could have never imagined previously.

Even though the Hulk and Charlie were able to escape their demonic pursuers for a time, their journey has still been filled with horrifying foes and devastating developments. The worst of these is arguably Charlie's transformation into a winged werewolf courtesy of the Godskin, a mystical pelt imparted unto her by the god of all werewolves - Lycana. Despite imbuing Charlie with incredible power, the Godskin is far more of a curse than a blessing, as it comes with the cost of both uncontrollable cannibalistic impulses and the promise that whoever wields it and their immortal soul alike will eventually be consumed by Lycana itself.
