The following contains spoilers about Bring on the Bad Guys: Abomination #1, on sale from Marvel next week.

The "Bring on the Bad Guys" series of connected one-shots is designed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic trade paperback collection, Bring on the Bad Guys, that was part of Marvel's legendary era of Fireside books (for a whole generation of fans, those Fireside Marvel books were their first exposure to many of Marvel's most iconic superheroes and villains). The one-shots follows an overarching plot of Mephisto trying to collect a series of "Soul Daggers" that, once finished, would make him able to take control of all of the souls in the Marvel Universe. Each of the one-shots spotlight a different major Marvel villain who, as it turns out, has had some sort of arrangement with Mephisto that people might not have known about. In this CBR exclusive preview of next week's Bring on the Bad Guys: Abomination #1, we learn that the classic Hulk villain, the Abomination, is also having a surprising connection to a major nation from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Bring on the Bad Guys: Abomination #1 is from writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson, artist Sergio Dávila, inker Aure Jimenez, colorist Ariaf Prianto, and letterer Travis Lanham (on top of a back-up story by Marc Guggenheim, Michael Sta. Maria, Dono Sánchez-Almara, and Lanham), and it shows Abomination in a prison in an unexpected location.
