Marvel Unveils Doctor Doom Event Finale Details, Teases New Sorcerer Supreme

The Marvel Comics: Next Big Thing Panel delivered one of San Diego Comic-Con's most memorable moments, garnishing new series announcements with a glimpse of a reveal of cover art for the finale issue of writer Ryan North and artist R.B. Silva's epic crossover event One World Under Doom. The saga has spanned the last calendar year of Marvel Comics, coinciding with building anticipation for the arrival of Robert Downey, Jr.'s Doctor Doom in the MCU. Who, conveniently enough, though face obscured, made his first appearance in The Fantastic Four: First Steps this weekend.

The issue will finally determine Doom's fate in his battle against Earth's heroes and as the Sorcerer Supreme. An official press release from Marvel teases: "Ben Harvey’s cover dramatically teases Doom’s fall, but while his reign may end, the impact of Doom’s final actions will be felt forever! What comes next? Will Doom retain the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme or will another step up to become Earth’s prime mystical protector? See the potential candidates on a new promotional image by artist Devmalya Pramanik and learn more in the months ahead."
